Drinks in the DNA-coding Bar

10th July 2015 @ 2:00 pm - 3:45 pm

(best suited to 8-12 year olds, who should be accompanied by an adult)

Can you taste the difference between juices from a number of different fruits? Help us to sort the juices with special barcodes and learn how DNA can be used to recognise different types of fruit and other species, and how DNA is used in archaeology to help us understand ancient environments. See you in the DNA-coding Bar. Cheers!

Led by palaeoecologist Maarten van Hardenbroek of the University of Southampton at the Whithorn Trust Visitor Centre.

Friday 10th July 2pm to 2.45pm and 3pm to 3.45pm
