Celts and Romans extended the hand of friendship today, in a session with Whithorn School pupils, demonstrating the melting pot which preceded the early Christian settlement at Whithorn. Children posed some difficult questions to our Roman Legionnaire and the kindred of Barrovados, asking them about the Dowalton Loch Roman bronze saucepan, which was deliberately buried beneath the waters of the loch by crannog dwellers. More sessions and characters follow in the next couple of weeks. We hope the children enjoyed it as much as the staff!
