Whithorn and Garlieston Schools helped us launch our Iron Age farming project today, with a little help from Alex Fergusson MSP and the Heritage Lottery Fund. The children learnt how to plough with antlers, how to weave with willow, and how to scrape bark with flints. There was some really skilled ploughing and weaving from both schools. Our thanks to Melssa Viguier from the School of Ancient Crafts, who’ll return later to help harvest, grind the corn and bake the bread !
