This booklet has been re-published by the Whithorn and District Business Association. The booklet acts as a gazetteer of archaeological sites for the area of the Machars.
For the first time ever, the Whithorn Trust Visitor Centre will be staying open after October 31st, 11am to 4pm
We open from April to October 31st, Sunday to Friday, 10.30 am to 4pm. Summer hours may be extended.
Your visit includes our chronological story of the development of Whithorn, the upper Gallery “Whithorn Cold Case” exhibition and our Audio Visual presentations, as well as our upcoming exhibit on the recent Iron Age dig; the ticket also includes access to the Iron Age roundhouse reconstruction via guided tour, and the Historic Scotland Museum of early mediaeval carved stones. The crypts are currently closed to the public. All tickets are valid for one year.
